1_truthConan is a super awesome detective- I am not. He is highly, highly observant and notices the smallest of details- I'm not kidding the smallest. His Methods follow that of Sherlock Holmes for the most part as he knows the small details make up the big picture. So! What can Conan deduce from your character? If it helps at all, think about it like Sherlock Holmes is the one making observations as, like I said, Conan uses his methods.

Noticeable marks on skin Barton is covered in minor to medium scars, but doesn't care much about hiding them. her face, arms, legs, etc.

Occupation: at home: none. in Mayfield: high school student, hospital candy striper.
Anything picked up at work- Not much other than a hatred of her uniform. :V
Speaking pattern: A slight drawl that might be hard to pin down, but otherwise American accent.
Personality Traits: Quite, lone wolfish, stone-faced and hard to get a reaction from that isn't annoyance or anger. Sometimes has emotional blow ups (positive and negative) that seem uncharacteristic that obviously rattle her.
Anything else you can think of you think he might be able to notice Barton refuses to wear girl's clothes, and is often mistaken for a boy. She won't correct people either way. She's often wearing an old WWI military trench coat that's too big for her, and carrying an old hatchet.

Speaking pattern: She has the sort of accent one expects when they think 'vampire'. That Transylvaian 'Creatures of ze night vhat beautiful music zey make' sort of thing. She's got a relaxed non-formal speaking pattern, despite being brought up in nobility.
Personality Traits: TROLL. Snarky and enjoys mocking other people and their misery. She's also very watchful, keeping a quiet eye on everything going around her and forming silent opinions on it all.
Anything else you can think of you think he might be able to notice She hasn't regained it yet, but once she does she will ALWAYS wear a black ribbon - it's a mark to show she's given up drinking blood. He'd notice she drinks coffee more than is...normal for anyone. Several cups a day. And of course, the male clothing, forever.

Speaking pattern: Crowe speaks very politely and has an Irish accent that sounds a bit watered down, thanks to living all over Europe in his life. He speaks 4 languages and is working on numbers 5 and 6 while in Mayfield.

Anything else you can think of you think he might be able to notice Crowe spends most of his time out at the park or at the rec center. He's very lithe, agile and athletic. He also can be found reading at the park - seems he's a big fan of detective novels, which he regained.

Anything picked up at work- Not really, she just uses a sewing machine.
Speaking pattern: American, obviously well-bred but is more personal with others than formal, calls people "dearie", "sweetie", or their first name, occasionally breaks out of the polite little old lady act in order to be childishly frank.
Personality Traits: Incredibly cheery, appears docile by default but with small bursts of rambunctious energy, kind to everyone, doesn't act her age, quite kooky if you ask me.

She can even climb trees and polevault. On that note, Foster has an infinite amount of hobbies. Or maybe it's more like she's always trying something new. Her most common fallback is knitting though.

Speaking pattern: She tends to speak in the accent of the person she's addressing. Fairly informal, most of the time.
Personality Traits: She's quite cheery. Very compassionate and non-judgemental. She quite literally loves everyone. She's also seen... almost everything. She's willing to give people a piece of her mind if they need someone to snap them out of a funk though.
Anything else you can think of you think he might be able to notice If the conversation turns serious, it fairly quickly becomes apparent that she's far older than she appears to be. She always wears a silver ankh necklace. She's only visible to mortals when she wants to be, but in Mayfield she generally chooses to be. Doors and walls are only suggestions to her, but again she tends to take the suggestion. She does her darndest to be utterly uncreepy.
Nina Fortner (Anna Liebert)

Natural or dyed hair? Natural.
Occupation: Nurse in Mayfield. Was a law student-slash-waitress-slash-vigilante-slash-pizza delivery girl back home.
Anything picked up at work- She has exceptional balance and can carry a lot of things at once thanks to her time as a waitress! However, there are no marks or callouses. If anything, her skin is almost spookily free of them.
Speaking pattern: Slight German accent. She has a casual but not vulgar speech pattern most of the time, though she's capable of being more formal when she wants to be/has to be. Her voice typically sounds kind, unless she's angry about something.
Personality Traits: Nina is friendly, kind and outgoing. She does keep certain things to herself despite her friendly personality, though, or at least she tries to. She's very intelligent and hard-working, and tends to overburden herself with her desire to do/be involved in everything. She gives off the impression of being a normal college girl at first glance, but is actually far more dangerous than one would guess to look at her. She can be very frightening when enraged. Also, when things are sad, she can become very serious and quiet. She is an able liar and manipulator when she has to be, although she won't do either of those things without a good reason.

Hair Color: Dirty blonde or light brown? Depends what you consider it, I guess. It's not really curly but it's not straight either; wavy is probably a good word.

She's never had a "real" job, so no.Edit: She does occasionally have bruises from falling down/bumping into cars while working as a carhop, but those are usually covered by her clothes anyway and they're becoming less and less frequent the more used to the job she gets. She also can occasionally be seen skating around town in her skates from work.Speaking pattern: High-pitched, "cutesy" voice.
Personality Traits: Sara is sweet and kind, and always willing to stick up for an underdog. She does have a temper, as well as moments of occasional irritability, so she isn't a saint. In general she's a nice person though, and she hates to see anyone being taken advantage of or picked on. She's extremely loyal. She's also very forgiving. She can be naive in some respects, although despite that her instincts about people are often very good.

Occupation: Paper boy. His real occupation may take some investigation to uncover, but it heavily involves a baseball bat.
Anything picked up at work: No. Not even a dog bite.
Speaking pattern: Softly spoken, short and choppy English. Slight Japanese accent.
Personality Traits: Quiet, creepy and often seen grinning. He's mainly an introvert and his eyes/face are typically obscured beneath his low baseball cap. However, he's quite confident in his own abilities, brave, and won't shy away from a threat. That doesn't mean he goes looking for trouble. He's clever, smart enough to know when not to cross a line.
Anything else you can think of you think he might be able to notice: Easy to note are the shadows that seem to surround him, even in broad daylight. His eyes especially are steeped in shadow. While he looks like a 13 year old boy, something about him may suggest he isn't human. Slugger is almost always seen carrying a warped baseball bat but is rarely seen using it.

Personality Traits: Johan seems to be a cheerful young man that cares a great deal about his sister and his students. He seems kind, caring and is a good listener.
Johan is actually a former serial killer that has little to no empathy for anyone in the world save for his sister. He's an introvert, cynical, world weary, manipulative, charming, people trust him, apathetic, unshakable, cold and cruel at times.

Occupation: Student; student council member; swim team member at home. In Mayfield, she'll probably be a seamstress or a baker.

Speaking pattern: Normal, polite teenage girl. Her emotions tend to show easily in the sound of her voice when she's not actively trying to suppress them.
Personality Traits: Very friendly, very outgoing. Shirley loves getting to know new people. She's kind-hearted and generally goes out of her way to make others feel welcome. When something is bothering her, she'll often try to hold it in to avoid making other people around her feel burdened with her sadness. Occasionally has moments of guilt, sadness, irritation, or bad temper. However, she generally seems cheerful and normal for the most part.

Noticeable marks on skin: If Conan looks very, very, very carefully in the right light, he may notice that the skintone on Klaus's hands does not perfectly match the one on his face, nor does it even perfectly match between hands. If he ever catches a glimpse of Klaus's neck with his hair and coat collar out of the way, he'll notice a tatoo on the back that looks like this. And, should he ever spot Klaus shirtless (though I highly doubt it), he'll see quite a bit of scarring from swords, bullets and what looks like claws, as well as some very ugly stitching that may just explain the skin-tone differences.

Occupation: Kindergarten teacher. Mad scientist (believe me, it will be obvious) out of his garage, which is usually open.
Anything picked up at work: Nothing physical, though Conan may notice him carrying a notebook back and forth from work with him each day. The current one is labelled 'Drone Child Psychology Longitudinal Study Vol. IX'. If we're talking work previous to Mayfield, then his fingers are highly calloused and his hands in general are scarred more than the rest of him, pointing to a medical or perhaps engineering bent (it is, in fact, both).
Speaking pattern: Well-spoken, somewhat formal, though makes use of contractions. Faint romanian accent, as though he's been speaking English fluently for a very long time. Curses in german or with phrases like 'red fire' and 'sweet lightning'. Calls robots 'clanks', zombies 'revenants', and a host of other interchangeable vocabulary. Tends to be curt when serious, but like all mad scientists can monologue with the best of them.
Personality Traits: Dry, a literal genius, very dominant and clearly used to being in control and having his orders followed, driven. Has a tendency to assume that he's the only one in any given situation who can handle themselves. Insane. No, really. Klaus sometimes has fits where he'll speak in a different, deeper, almost electrified voice, generally when he's very angry or in the middle of something scientific (though to be fair he's far better at controlling himself than most with his particular brand of Madness). Conan is bound to witness this at some point: Sparks in the fugue of Madness tend to be very loud and easy to spot, and Klaus does keep his garage/lab open. He may also notice that Klaus is particularly awkward around his assigned children, but seems to be making a concentrated effort to treat them well.
Anything else you can think of you think he might be able to notice: 729 Anderson in general is a weird house. The garage, which is usually open, contains guns and swords and a large examination table with straps, an attached and very scary looking drill, and a very old but very large bloodstain around the base. Besides the garage there's a 30 foot long blimp tethered on the lawn with what looks like a miniature forest growing out of the top. A very big anthropoid brass robot stands out front. These things can be linked to Klaus given that they all bear his sigil, which is the same as the mark on the back of his neck and the mark on the fastenings of most all of the clothing he owns. Speaking of that, it's all very fancy and old fashioned: great-coats, waistcoats, brass buttons, high collars, black boots, and lots of decoration that marks him as monied but not quite flamboyant. Also, given the amount of belongings he has regained, it might be easy for Conan to posit that he's been in Mayfield for quite some time (a year, at least).

Speaking pattern: Her voice is clipped and straight to the point. She sounds light and cheerful sometimes but tends to be being nasty when she does.
Personality Traits: bitter, hateful, curious, full of herself, self confident, holds grudges, makes herself out to be the victim, passive-aggressive, cynical, un-trusting, science above everything.
Anything else you can think of you think he might be able to notice GLaDOS sometimes may give the impression that she's not comfortable in her own body. Sometimes she will have dark circles under her eyes because she avoids sleeping. She hums or sings to herself if she thinks no one is around. She's followed by two small turrets that have a tendency to call her mom. Sometimes she argues out-loud with the voice in her head but only if she thinks she's alone.

Date: 2012-03-15 04:07 pm (UTC)Complexion: Haruhi has pretty fair complexion. The Haruhi wiki page describes her skin as "pale", though her skin's pretty typical for an average Japanese high school student. There are no observable tan lines, though!

Hair Color: Okay -- here's the problem. The anime and the light novels differ when it comes to describing Haruhi's hair color! So the best compromise is to say that her hair is dark brown, which can be described as "black", but images of Haruhi (both light novel, manga, and anime) say otherwise.
Natural or dyed hair? Her hair is definitely natural.
Occupation: She's a high school student as well as the SOS Brigade chief.
Anything picked up at work: Usually, there will be nothing (at least, unless stated otherwise in a thread!), since Haruhi is a normal high school girl who tires her best not to get herself injured.
Speaking pattern: Okay! Oddly enough, Haruhi - who comes from the Kansai region speaks in Tokyo dialect. So, it's obvious that she speaks Japanese. Also! The way Haruhi speaks differs with each person she talks to. When it comes to her friends + brigade, she will speak informally, but she will use formal Japanese when it comes to elders (only elders that she cares about, of course) or people she needs to get information from.
Personality Traits: Haruhi is very bossy and almost always gets what she wants. She's also very loud and forever in denial about any sort of relationship with Kyon. Of course, she can be polite when she has to - but that's only because she does it to get what she wants. She's also known as eccentric (due to her hobby) though she also contradicts herself a lot.
Anything else you can think of you think he might be able to notice: Haruhi always wears a red armband that has words on them. Usually it's "chief", but depending on the situation the words may change. She also wears a yellow ribbon on top of her head that she never takes off. Unless she's asleep.

Speaking pattern: Britannian (English) and Japanese, very formal.
Personality Traits: Normally very bold outgoing, but she's shrunk back a little bit in Mayfield. Very friendly. Doesn't like the drones at all. Impulsive.

Anything picked up at work- scars on index fingers for doctors- calluses on hands- bruises on the legs (maybe from working with boxes): Her hands are calloused from working with them on physical projects, using guns a lot, etc. And she's rather muscular, although it's not immediately noticeable.
Speaking pattern: Japanese, rather informal. She doesn't use honorifics a lot, preferring nicknames, and sometimes clips/combines her words ("yanno", "thinkin'" "wouldya", etc)
